THE DISC & RECORDINGS:
This is
the first compilation of songs from Judy Garland films to hit
the market. Judy left MGM in 1950, but of course M-G-M Records
would get as much mileage out of her popularity as possible.
This album was probably released just after her triumph at
The Palace Theater in New York on October 16, 1951.
This album was was also available in a small "boxed set" of
45rpm records, and a 10" 33 1/3 "long
playing" edition (see below).
The songs here are the M-G-M Records versions.
